Privacy policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit bloggerimporter.com, buy a license for Blogger Importer Extended or use the plugin with a license key, why we collect it, and what your rights are.
In short: we only collect what we need to sell you a license, deliver your key and keep the records the law requires. There are no customer accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies, and we never sell your data.
Who we are
The website and the license system are run by Lavoie Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12919936), whose registered office is at 20–22 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU. Lavoie Ltd is the controller of the personal data described here.
For anything about your data, email [email protected].
What we collect and why
When you buy a license
Payment happens on Stripe’s secure checkout page. Your card details go straight to Stripe: we never see or store them. Stripe then tells us:
- your email address and the name you entered at checkout
- what you bought, the amount and currency, and when you paid
- Stripe’s reference numbers for the payment and for you as a customer
We store these with the license key we issue you and its start and expiry dates. We use them to deliver your key, check it when the plugin asks, handle refunds and support requests, and keep the sales records UK tax law requires. Our legal basis is performing our contract with you and, for the sales records, our legal obligations.
Emails we send you
We email your license key to the address you gave at checkout, and send it again if you ask on the resend my key page. Stripe emails you the payment receipt. We don’t send newsletters or marketing.
The “resend my key” form
When you use the form, we record your IP address, a scrambled (hashed) form of the email address you entered and the time, so we can limit how often the form is used and stop it being abused. We delete these records after 24 hours. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the service and our customers.
When you email us
If you email us, for example to ask for a refund by replying to your order email, your message reaches us through Postmark and is stored in our own support system with your email address and name, our replies, and the names and sizes of any attachments (we don’t keep the attachments themselves). We keep it for as long as we need it to deal with your request. If it relates to a purchase, we keep it with that purchase’s records. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your questions or, for purchases, performing our contract with you.
Our support system scores incoming email for spam. Messages it treats as spam are deleted after 30 days.
When you use the plugin with a license key
When you enter a license key in the plugin, it sends the key to our license server to check that it’s valid. It sends nothing else, but like any request over the internet, our server sees the IP address of the server your WordPress site runs on. We use it only to answer the request and to protect the license server from abuse.
The plugin connects to your blog through Google’s Blogger API, and your posts, pages, comments and images go straight from Google to your own WordPress site. None of your blog’s content, and nothing about your Google account, passes through our servers.
When you visit the website
Like any website, our servers and Cloudflare (which protects and speeds up the site) log the requests they receive, including your IP address, browser type and the pages you asked for. These logs are used to keep the site secure and working, and are kept only for a short time. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
The website’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. To load them, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which see your IP address.
Cookies
We don’t use cookies for analytics or advertising, and our own pages don’t set any cookies for visitors. Cloudflare may set a short-lived, strictly necessary cookie (__cf_bm) to tell people apart from bots. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page, which are covered by Stripe’s privacy policy.
Who we share your data with
We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf and only as we instruct:
- Stripe processes payments and refunds. Stripe also uses payment data for its own purposes, such as preventing fraud, as described in Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Postmark (ActiveCampaign) delivers our emails and receives the emails you send us. Postmark’s privacy policy.
- Cloudflare protects and delivers the website and the license server. Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Our web hosting provider runs the servers and database the site and license system run on.
Google receives your IP address when your browser loads the website’s fonts (see above). We don’t sell your data or share it with anyone for marketing. We would only disclose it otherwise if the law required us to.
International transfers
Some of these providers process data in the United States and other countries outside the UK. When they do, your data is protected by safeguards UK data protection law recognises, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK’s International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Purchase and license records: six years after the purchase, because UK tax law requires us to keep sales records.
- “Resend my key” records: 24 hours.
- Emails with you: as long as we need them to deal with your request, and with the purchase records if they relate to a purchase. Spam is deleted after 30 days.
- Server and Cloudflare logs: a short period, for security.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- correct data that’s wrong or incomplete
- delete your data
- restrict how we use it, or object to our using it where we rely on legitimate interests
- give you your data in a portable format
Email [email protected] to make a request. We’ll reply within one month. We may need to keep purchase records even if you ask us to delete them, because the law requires us to.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Security
The website and license server only work over encrypted HTTPS connections, card details never reach our servers, and access to customer records is restricted and password protected.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
